Adoption success story
(WTNH) _ Rochelle and Tony Villalba's desire to become parents became a reality after a visit to an adoption open house sponsored by the Department of Children and Families.
"I didn't want to be a mom, I needed to be one," said Rochelle.
"We knew it would fulfill a destiny, not only for us but for the child," said Tony.
"I remember crying before we went to pick him up when we got the news on the phone. It was a good feeling," said Tony.
Adopting Gabrielle was a dream come true and changed their lives in ways only parents can truly understand.
"He just completes us, he is such a great baby and the best gift I could have ever gotten," said Rochelle.
When Tony and Rochelle met their baby he was just three weeks old and at 6 months, the adoption became official. Initially, they researched private adoptions but due to the statistics and need for families right here in Connecticut they decided to help a child locally.
"There are so many great kids in the system, people just need to give them a chance," said Rochelle.
The feeling of fulfillment their adopted son gives every day is more than they could have ever imagined.
