Morning Star Adoption Center, a Michigan agency, is seeking African American parents for an African American child due September 12, 2008. It is a girl. Birth mother is 21 years old and has a two year old daughter. She is seeking a family close to the Detroit area, so that they can be involved with doctors appointments during her pregnancy. After placement, she would like to receive letters and pictures. She is open to any faith family. She is NOT open to same gender couples or a single parent. She would consider an inter-racial couple.

Birth mother is healthy. She does not smoke, she had 1-2 drinks before her second month of pregnancy, but is no longer having any alcohol and she does not use illegal drugs. Her first child (born approx. 3 years ago) died of SIDS at the age of 8 weeks, 3 days.

Birth father is 25 years old and has 4 or 5 other children. He does not support those children and has a criminal background. He is not likely to take any interest in this child, which will result in the termination of his parental rights. He is healthy. There are not any significant health issues in either family.

Total anticipated cost of this adoption, which can be completed in Michigan, would be approximately $11,000.00, plus travel and two supervision visits. Birth mother has not requested any living expense assistance, but this figure includes the possibility for a small amount of help, if it became necessary.

If you would like to be presented to this birth mother, please send a Dear Birth Mother Letter/Profile Letter to Morning Star Adoption Center, 15635 W. 12 Mile Rd., Southfield, MI 48076 as soon as possible. Please include a copy of your home study page showing you are approved to adopt an African American healthy newborn. Please indicate which situation you want to be presented on, by stating the due date. Our agency has a number of listings at this time.
