Morning Star Adoption Center is seeking a family for an African American baby boy, due April 27. Birth mother is 16 years old and not prepared to parent. She lives with her father and he supports the adoption plan. She is seeking a married couple (no same gender families), any race, Christian, prefers a family in Michigan, and would like letters, pictures, phone calls, and possibly visits after placement. She is healthy, but obtains special education classes for speech and language impairments. She states only 1 possible birth father, which is her half-brother (same mother). He is 28 years old, married and cannot be located. His parental rights can be terminated if he is not located. He is believed to be healthy. Birth mother's mother has Lupus, cancer, diabetes (she's overweight) and deep vein thrombosis. She is currently living in SC. Total fees are approximately $9,500.00 (for a MI adoption), excluding travel, home study, and 2 supervision visits. Michigan can complete a legal adoption with families from any state, since birth mother is here.
